CLE SEMINARS

Where do I park to attend classes held in the CLE Classrooms?

The best parking for our location is found in the Denver Cultural Center Complex Garage at 65 West 12th Avenue.

Can I switch to another format if something comes up and I can’t attend?

If you are unable to attend live, know that the mp3 audio download for the course will automatically be added to your record. You can use the mp3 audio to complete the course via home study.

Why is there a price difference between attending a class live and ordering the home study?

Typically the price for a live class is the same as the cost of the home study for that course. When there is a price difference, it is usually because the live event featured breakout sessions. When attending live, it is not possible to attend all concurrent sessions. However, we are able to include all presentations in the home study version. The price difference is a reflection of the difference in available credits.

I registered for a webcast. When will I receive the viewing instructions?

Upon registration, you will receive an email from us with instructions for when and where to view the webcast. You will also receive a confirmation email from us the day before the program.

I am a new attorney taking a CLE class for the first time. What do I need to bring/wear?

We provide refreshments and free wifi. Bring your own note-taking materials. Business casual attire is fine. Keep in mind that your peers and colleagues in the legal community may be present. Dress for whatever impression you wish to make upon them.

CLE HOME STUDIES

What is the difference between Live Webinar and Video On-Demand?

Live webinars are live broadcasts. Webinars occur in real-time and offer the opportunity for real-time Q&A with the presenter. Webinars are accredited as live events.
Video On-Demand are archived videos that you can watch on your computer. Video On-Demand products are available 24/7 and are accredited for use with your self-study affidavit.

Why is there a price difference between attending a class live and ordering the home study?

Can you tell me if a course is still accredited?

We display the expiration date for all courses on the course information page online. The expiration date is listed above the price.

MANDATORY PROFESSIONALISM CLASS

What is the Practicing with Professionalism class and why do I have to take it in person?

Rule 201.14 on "Oath of Admission" was amended and adopted by the Supreme Court, en banc, on March 21, 2003 and effective July 1, 2003. The amended rule provides for a new mandatory, six-hour professionalism course worth six general credits (satisfying six units of the required 45-unit general requirements during each attorney’s first compliance period.) The new rule further provides that every applicant must take the required course before taking the oath of admission. Applicants cannot fulfill this requirement through audio-homestudy. Out-of-state applicants should plan accordingly. If an applicant is unsuccessful on the Colorado bar examination, the professionalism course is valid for one full calendar year following completion of the course.

Do I need this class to be sworn-in?

The new rule further provides that every applicant must take the required course before taking the oath of admission.

Do I take this course before or after passing the bar?

You do not have to pass the bar to register for the course. This course is a live-only event and fills up quickly. We recommend that you do not wait until the last minute. If an applicant is unsuccessful on the Colorado bar examination, the professionalism course is valid for one full calendar year following completion of the course.

Do single-client attorneys need to take this class?

Yes. This is a mandatory course for all attorneys seeking a license to practice law in Colorado.
