CBA-CLE is the nonprofit educational arm of the

Colorado Bar Association and the Denver Bar Association.

Faculty Expectations

With the help of hundreds of volunteer speakers, our non-profit organization is proud to deliver high-quality, Colorado-focused continuing legal education (CLE) programs, to over 10,000 attendees each year. Our speakers are leaders and experts in their fields, and we could not serve the legal community without you. To ensure programs are well-organized and smoothly executed, CBA-CLE asks that all faculty members agree to the following expectations:

  • Generally - Respect all deadlines. We rely on faculty to meet their deadlines so that we can apply for CLE credit, market the program, arrange necessary staff and technology support, provide attendees with written materials in advance, etc.
  • Upon Invitation - Provide a preferred presentation title, short content description, and summary/time estimate for any ethics/professionalism and/or equity, diversity, and inclusivity (EDI) content (if applicable).
  • Leading up to the Program - Participate in meetings with co-presenters, program chair, and/or CBA-CLE staff to organize presentation content and prepare technology. Keep in touch with your CBA-CLE team members. We are here to help you and to answer questions.
  • 2-3 Weeks Before the Program - Contribute high-quality written materials.
    • You will receive a specific due date from your CBA-CLE team.
    • The Colorado Supreme Court Board of CLE requires written materials for each CLE presentation for CLE accreditation. Your written materials might contain an outline, articles, supporting documents and research, a PowerPoint® presentation, and other helpful resources.
    • A PowerPoint® presentation with slides containing statutes, case law, ethics rules, or any content directly relating to and supporting the presentation topic, can qualify as materials. A PowerPoint® that is primarily photos, videos, etc., and used for entertainment value during the presentation, will not qualify as materials.
  • During the Program - Interact with the audience, e.g., questions, brief polls, etc.
