Trial Practice in the Water Courts: Trying Your Water Law Case - In-Person

Learn the practicalities of trying your water court case. We’ll discuss burdens of proof, required evidence, making a clear record, preserving issues for appeal, and motions. PLUS, seasoned practitioners and officials will treat you to mock trials of water rights issues routinely heard by water courts. And, don’t miss the end of the day session during which your colleagues will share the takeaway points.    
 
- Gain insights into trying cases in Colorado’s unique water court system
 
- Hear experts on best practices in the trial phase as to burdens of proof, evidence, expert testimony, making a clear record, preserving issues for appeal and motions      
 
- Mock trial, plus a wrap-up session with colleagues
 
Home studies will be available approximately 2-3 weeks following the live program.

All attendees must wear masks for indoor events unless attendees can maintain a distance of six feet from each other, in which case masks may be removed. The program will be submitted for CLE accreditation in Colorado. If you need to seek accreditation in another state, please review the process and requirements for that individual state. CBA-CLE staff can provide a Uniform Certificate of Attendance, and it is the attendee’s responsibility to complete the accreditation outside of Colorado.
