Wearing Two Hats: The Ethics of Being Both an Attorney and Real Estate Broker
(and other Dual Practice Ethical Dilemmas)

Program Description:

Following and abiding by the Colorado Rules of Professional Conduct can be challenging enough for an attorney, but issues can become even more complicated if you are practicing two professions. In this enlightening seminar, Eric Nesbitt, a Colorado licensed real estate attorney and commercial real estate broker, will discuss ethical considerations involved with actively practicing dual occupations. This Program will discuss the Rules of Professional Conduct for attorneys who have dual practices, including a discussion of second businesses operated out of the same office, the relationship of the second business to the practice of law, wearing two hats in the same transaction and general conflict of interest principles. He will also discuss dual practice scenarios to avoid.
