Program Description

The dust had barely settled on the sweeping changes to Colorado's foreclosure laws enacted in 2006 and 2007 when the legislature, in 2009, enacted additional legislation changing the foreclosure laws.  With a “moving target” like this, Colorado attorneys need a step-by-step understanding of the foreclosure laws in Colorado.

The best way to acquire the knowledge and skills you need to navigate the Colorado foreclosure process is by attending Foreclosure Law in Colorado on December 10, 2009!

The program begins with almost 2 hours of focused coverage of Colorado's unique public trustee foreclosure system.  The instructors then provide a detailed review of both the Rule 120 public hearing requirements and how a bankruptcy affects a foreclosure.

The afternoon begins with a discussion of an alternative to public trustee foreclosure:  Judicial foreclosure.  When is judicial foreclosure necessary - or preferable?   How can you get in and out of court most efficiently?  Find out!

The next presentation addresses common tax lien issues that affect foreclosures.  The program concludes with a discussion of two important alternatives to a foreclosure:  Deeds in lieu of foreclosure and workouts.  Find out how these alternatives work and when to use them.

All of the faculty members are experts in Colorado foreclosure law, ensuring a high-quality educational experience.
