The Deed Indeed: Final Step of the Tax Sale - Webinar
Colorado's tax lien sales and treasurer deed laws have undergone significant changes that impact a wide array of stakeholders, such as county treasurers, real estate practitioners, title professionals, bankruptcy attorneys, and local government counsel. This timely CLE will provide a practical, step-by-step review of the new statutory framework, beginning with recent changes to Colorado's tax lien sale statutes (SB26-144 and HB26-1120) as well as the legal developments that prompted reform, including Tyler v. Hennepin County.
Holly Ryan, esteemed faculty and SB26-144 drafter, will walk you through the complete lifecycle of the new treasurer deed process—from application and notice requirements through public auction, redemption rights, repurchase procedures, overbid claims, and issuance of deeds. Participants will gain valuable insight into critical procedural timelines, lienholder rights, owner protections, and post-auction issues, as well as the treatment of bankruptcy filings, rescission, set-aside actions, and continuations under the new law.
Whether you represent counties, lenders, investors, property owners, title companies, or other interested parties, this program will provide the essential knowledge needed to understand and apply Colorado's new treasurers’ deed process.
