Corporate Transparency Act Compliance: Real Estate Hot Topics - In-Person

The Real Estate Hot Topics series will start the year off by tackling the elusive Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) – more specifically, whether and how to comply with its broad requirements.

The CTA went into effect on January 1, 2024, and generally imposes beneficial ownership information reporting requirements on any entity that is created or registered by filing a document with a secretary of state or similar office. Businesses and corporate counsel have feverishly worked this past year to meet the January 1, 2025, filing deadline. However, in December 2024, the Fifth Circuit affirmed the issuance of a nationwide preliminary injunction barring enforcement of the CTA – leaving the business community to wonder about next steps.

This half-day program begins by detailing the various legal challenges to the CTA and their impact, if any, on compliance efforts. We will then hear from an esteemed panel regarding lessons learned from creating and implementing compliance procedures for business clients.
