Program Description:
 
Revocable trusts are a staple of the estate planner’s toolbox. This program will discuss the lifecycle of this commonly used tool, from creation, through the settlor’s life, and beyond the settlor’s death. The program will address the Colorado Uniform Trust Code (CUTC) and other relevant state and federal laws, and will also provide practical tips. Topics to be covered include:
 
- Features of a revocable trust
- Practical considerations with funding the trust
- Notice requirements
- Tax considerations
- Creditor claims
- Distributions during the settlor’s life and after death
- Trust termination

Meet Your Presenter:
 
Jennifer Spitz, Esq., practices law in Longmont, Colorado with the law firm of Lyons Gaddis. Jennifer primarily practices in the areas of estate planning, probate and trust administration. She is a graduate of the University of Colorado School of Law. She is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Council (ACTEC) is listed in The Best Lawyers in America® and Colorado Super Lawyers, and she was named Best Lawyers® 2018 Tax Law “Lawyer of the Year” for Boulder. Jennifer is very active in the Trust and Estate Section of the Colorado Bar Association, including previously serving as the Section's Chair.
