Program Description:
Will contests are unique and specialized types of civil litigation, and every case is different. A myriad of issues may be raised when the validity of a will is in dispute. Attend this year's program on Will Contests and be fully prepared the next time your client's will is in dispute.
Program Chair Herb Tucker will open the day with an up-to-the-minute case law update. Then, the revered James Wade will spend an hour talking with you about the highly publicized Anna Nicole Smith case and other cases involving spousal financial exploitation. Top litigator Keith Lapuyade will explain equitable and legal claims along with insurance coverage issues in will contest cases. Trusted counsel Theresa Moore will go in depth on the recent Vessels and Beren cases, and veteran David Kirch will talk about equitable claims in will and trust litigation. The knowledgeable and entertaining Marcie McMinimee and Zachary Schlichting will end the day discussing equitable defenses and the bill before the Colorado legislature regarding the common law rule on "laches."
