Protect Yourself and Preserve Confidentiality: Negotiate Instruments Securely - Webinar
Exchanging electronic documents, while fast and convenient, presents many issues that practitioners must be aware of and risks to protect against. In this webinar, you’ll learn: (i) when it’s appropriate to use word processor files and when it’s appropriate to use PDFs; (ii) how to track your changes in a document and how to ascertain what changes were made by others; (iii) how to add comments and annotations to Word or PDF files, lock documents down to prevent further changes, and avoid including hidden (and potentially damaging) information in the files you’re working with; (iv) email encryption options which ensure that only the intended recipient can open your emails and attachments to them; and (v) how the tools help you adhere to your ethical obligations as an attorney under Colorado Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1 (competence, particularly comment 8), 1.3 (diligence), 1.4 (communication), and 1.6 (confidentiality of information).
