3rd Annual Litigation Basics for Paralegals
Litigation Basics - A Primer on the Process
Litigation - A lawsuit. Legal action, including all proceedings therein. Contest in a court of law for the purpose of enforcing a right or seeking a remedy. A judicial contest, a judicial controversy, a suit of law. Black's Law Dictionary
Litigation is the core of our legal system. Everything lawyers do is either to avoid it or prepare for it. Not all paralegals work in litigation. But, every paralegal regardless of their practice area must know litigation fundamentals;
- preparation for the proceedings
- rules of the contest
- consequences
This is an intimidating task. Our goal is to provide knowledge and strategies that can help you manage the job.
