Oops, Your Implicit Bias is Showing
Recent research indicates historically disadvantaged populations are under-represented in problem solving courts. This phenomenon is particularly concerning when examined in the context of the criminal justice and child welfare system as a whole where it is well documented that historically disadvantaged populations are over-represented. This program will explore the neuroscience of decision making and how implicit bias may unconsciously impact decision making and contribute to overrepresentation in the system.

Social Networking: Ethical Tips for the Uninitiated and the Unwary
Lawyers, as licensed professionals, have added obligations in using social networking tools for marketing, advertising and investigation. These valuable tools bring tremendous benefits to those who use them successfully, but also pose challenges for those who are not aware of their professional ethical obligations. This presentation provides cautionary tales, and gives lawyers advice about how to proceed to get the most out of their social media use.
