How to Fix the Unintended and Unacceptable Consequences of Unmanaged Junior-Attorney Talent Practices
Join us to learn about the solutions that demographic data over a 20-year span — from recruiting through promotions — can teach us about better managing talent for the benefit of our attorneys, clients, and firms more broadly.
- Attrition is an expected element of the law firm talent lifecycle--especially at the junior-attorney level
- Attrition data, however, shows to be unacceptably skewed against underrepresented attorney groups
- Lock-step billing-rate increases combined with poor development in the junior years is a significant contributor to this problem
- Many firms have identified and successfully tested a partial solution--now they need to apply it more broadly
Presented Wayne Stacy, Executive Director, Berkeley Center for Law & Technology
