Program Description:
 
This session is jam-packed with practical tips for drafting international arbitration language in contracts for your clients doing business internationally. Your instructor is an experienced practitioner who will address key considerations, provisions, clauses and principles. You will learn how to better draft arbitration clauses in sync with client needs and goals, and other provisions of the contract. You will also learn what to look for when reviewing arbitration clauses in contracts prepared by others, taking into account procedural and substantive requirements of the governing law and that of the arbitration venue.

Harry L. Arkin, JD, Arkin & Associates LLC, Denver, CO
 
Harry L. Arkin, JD, Fellow, College of Commercial Arbitrators, and former Chair of the North American Branch of the London-based Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, has over 40 years of outstanding experience in the areas of Business, Transactional, and Corporate/Company Law in the United States and internationally. Additionally, he is experienced in related legal fields including: negotiation of all forms of domestic and international business and other areas of agreements and the resolution of disputes relating thereto. He is also experienced in the fields of estate, trust and investment planning and administration in the USA and internationally.
Mr. Arkin regularly serves as counsel to individuals, other law firms, and business entities in the organization and operation of commercial, construction and investment ventures and contracts worldwide and litigation, arbitration, and mediation of business, construction, and investment disputes in the USA and throughout the world. Mr. Arkin has served as an advocate and as a party, court, and institutionally nominated arbitrator and mediator in the aforedescribed fields.
