Program Description

Lengthy and multiple tours of duty overseas have created new and unique legal issues for the members of our armed forces. These issues affect them, their families, and their employers, during active duty, while in reserve status, and after retirement.
What are the critical issues you need to understand when your client or your employee is a current or former member of the military? Find out in this timely, practical, and informative program!

Our program's topics cover a variety of legal areas, including family law, employment law, litigation, health and retirement benefits, military and VA benefits and disability issues, estate planning, and more. What are the special child custody issues when your client faces deployment overseas? Can you receive a default judgment when a member of the armed forces is covered by the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act? Is your company required to re-hire a deployed member of the military when he or she returns from active duty? Find out the answers to these questions, and many more, in this practical program!
Lunch is included in your tuition.  During lunch, you will enjoy a special presentation on the important civil liberties and separation of powers issues surrounding the detainees from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
As always, in addition to great CLE, CBA-CLE programs provide you with great networking opportunities with your colleagues.
