PowerPoint - Effective use for courtroom, boardroom, and public presentations

March 2008

PowerPoint® - Effective use for courtroom, boardroom, and public presentations

Good PowerPoint® presentations are useless by themselves. We've all sat through painful presentations where PowerPoint® was incorrectly used not as a visual aid but rather as a script for the instructor, or as a substitute for familiarity with the subject. Our instructor will teach you what PowerPoint® is, and what PowerPoint® is not! Learn how to put together and present an effective presentation using less text and more tricks. In addition to covering the overall applicability and effectiveness of PowerPoint®, the instructor will touch on specific PowerPoint® features such as custom animation, personalized slides, graphics, web images, video clips, graphs, charts, and other unique tools.

(Note: this course is geared toward those who have some familiarity with using PowerPoint®, and is not training on the basic mechanics of PowerPoint® software).

Don't miss your opportunity to become an effective and fluent PowerPoint® presenter!

About the Presenter: Ann Kaplan
Ann Kaplan is the founder and president of Impact Production Services. She has a BS from the University of Michigan and an MS from the Colorado School of Mines. Before starting her own business, she was an environmental consultant and accumulated over 8 years of experience working with lawyers, scientists, and other professionals to create dynamic presentations for use in courtroom, classroom and conference settings. Her years in academia and in the environmental law field gave her many opportunities to suffer through some not-so-great presentations! In fact, a poorly-done PowerPoint® presentation was the catalyst that inspired her to leave consulting and establish a company that would provide comprehensive presentation materials for professionals in the legal, environmental, and technical fields. Impact Production Services was the result! In addition to raising her two children, Ms. Kaplan truly enjoys her work creating materials that disseminate highly technical and scientific content in an easily comprehensible manner to a wide variety of audiences, including state and federal agencies, lawyers, students, academia, and community groups.
