Family Law Fall Update - In-Person
This year’s Fall Update is covering timely topics like how inflation impacts domestic relations cases, trying psychological parent cases. In addition, you’ll hear fresh perspectives on how to issue effective discovery, and prepare for timed trial. The program closes with a Judges Panel on hot topics like in-person versus in-person hearings, maintenance and business evaluations and inflation, and mental health and parenting time issues.
Home studies will be available approximately 2-3 weeks following the live program.
For your own safety, the safety of others, and in an effort to provide everyone with the most rewarding in-person meeting and event experiences possible, we request that you attend a CBA, DBA, or CLE meeting or event only if you have been fully vaccinated. Mask wearing is up to personal preference and comfort level. Masks may be required in some clinic settings. Please be cognizant and understanding of others’ preferences and courteous to all attendees.
Depending on CDC and/or state or local health guidelines, a rise in COVID-19 cases, or other circumstances that may threaten the well-being of our attendees, CBA-CLE reserves the right to convert to a fully virtual event.
If disability accommodations or special assistance are needed, please contact us at [email protected]. Requests must be made at least two weeks prior to the scheduled program.
The program will be submitted for CLE accreditation in Colorado. If you need to seek accreditation in another state, please review the process and requirements for that individual state. CBA-CLE staff can provide a Uniform Certificate of Attendance, and it is the attendee’s responsibility to complete the accreditation outside of Colorado.

Beyond the Rhetoric: Obstacles and Opportunities in Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion for Legal Professionals
As the legal profession learns to adjust to the post pandemic “new normal” in legal workplaces, there have been many questions about the social inclusion (SI)/ Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) efforts in the profession since the ‘Black Lives Matter’ global movements, and locally with the escalating cases of workplace sexual harassment and sexual abuse cases in our profession known as the ‘shadow pandemic’. Yet too many DEI trainings and initiatives designed to address these efforts are also designed to be unwelcome for people who haven’t bought in to their premise. In this workshop, we will explore the most common assumptions embedded into today’s DEI initiatives and discuss how these assumptions can unwittingly create polarization and resentment while undermining future efforts at inclusion. We will also consider alternative frameworks for DEI engagement in the legal profession and explore the ways in which we can do better at meeting people where they are and providing them with a meaningful place in the DEI movement.
