2019 Annual Family Law Institute

August 2019

2019 Annual Family Law Institute: Changing Perspectives

Presented by the CBA Family Law Section - In Cooperation with Colorado Bar Association CLE

Program Description:

It’s 2019, and our world and field of practice are rapidly evolving. To remain efficient and effective, family law practitioners need to be aware of and open to changing perspectives!

Attend this year’s Family Law Institute on August 15, 16, and 17 in beautiful Vail, CO!

At this year’s Institute, hear from experienced attorneys, professionals, and more than a dozen judicial officers on topics like collaborative law, preserving issues for appeal, and alienation and familial repair.  Attend practical sessions that will build your skill base, including a multi-session courtroom practicum. Learn the ins and outs of child hearsay, tips on preparing a relocation case for trial, and guidance for organizing and presenting a one-hour temporary orders hearing.

Don’t miss this year’s Institute featuring -

Lori Poland, MA, LPC, Executive Director and Co-Founder of The National Foundation to End Child Abuse and Neglect

The Health Impacts of Child Abuse and Neglect; Childhood Trauma, ACES, and What We Can Do to Help

Lori Poland is a childhood survivor of a high-profile child abuse case, and has since devoted her life and career to ending child abuse and neglect, and to healing cycles of violence. She has spent 19 years working in mental health and the nonprofit sector as a therapist, leaving the highly successful clinic she founded to assume the chief executive role at the National Foundation to End Child Abuse and Neglect. She travels nationally as a motivational speaker talking about the effects of trauma on children and families, and has consulted within the legal system to advocate for change in the field and to develop greater understanding.
