DIVORCE.  CONFLICT.  KIDS: Helping Your Clients Protect Their Children-Before, During and After

Co-sponsored by the CBA Family Law Section

Program Highlights:

For years, professionals have told their clients that unresolved parental conflict hurts children. However, we now have a way to predict how such conflict can scar their children for the rest of their lives. At this seminar, Joan McWilliams will speak about the original Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) Study (1994), the subsequent ACEs studies, including physical and emotional abuse, verbal abuse, broken heart syndrome, alienation and abandonment. She will also speak about resilience, trauma-informed care, the new Colo. RPC Rule 2.1, Comment 2, and the ways in which lawyers can help their clients understand the importance of this information.
