In this interactive program, Ms. Cohen and Ms. Black will discuss the common threads and themes they see alleged in the plaintiffs’ malpractice complaints or requests for investigations filed with the Office of Attorney Regulation Counsel. A lawyer can expect to get sued during his or her legal career. You will hear their observations about some of the root causes such as client selection or managing client expectations. Ms. Cohen and Ms. Black will discuss communication and conflict of interest issues and some of the trends they see in complaints. Ms. Cohen and Ms. Black will offer practical tips on how to minimize the possibility of a lawsuit or grievance.
