Legal Ethics: Hypotheticals for the Real World
Program Description
The popular legal ethics hypotheticals CLE program is back! Faculty members will present and discuss hypothetical fact patterns that represent legal ethics situations that Colorado attorneys face frequently in their practices. The hypotheticals will address ethics problems that face both litigators and non-litigators, giving you the critical guidance you need to make the right choice when facing one of these common legal ethics problems.
For each hypothetical, you will be given multiple choice answers from which to choose the “best” or “safest” course of action an attorney can take. After marking the answer on your sheet, the instructor will reveal the best choice, explaining why the remaining choices are not as desirable.
The program's written materials will include a copy of the Colorado Rules of Professional Conduct as well as case decisions, legal ethics opinions, and other documents used by faculty in the discussion of each hypothetical situation.
Have fun and practice your decision-making in commonly-encountered legal ethics situations while satisfying your CLE ethics requirements.
Hypotheticals will include the following topics:
- Inadvertent Production of Documents
- Candor to the Court
- Dissimulation
- Metadata
- Prospective Clients
- Ancillary Business
- Medical Marijuana
- Legal Marketing
