Program Description

Tired of not being able to find enough CLE programs exclusively devoted to legal ethics?  Tired of legal ethics presentations that consist of a dry review of the rules of professional conduct?

CBA-CLE to the rescue!  Attend Legal Ethics:  Hypotheticals for the Real World and enjoy a CLE program exclusively focused on legal ethics issues taught using a fun, interactive, real world-centered approach!
Our expert faculty members have drafted a series of hypothetical fact patterns that address legal ethics issues for both transactional attorneys and litigators. The faculty members have worked hard to ensure that the fact patterns are typical of the ethics situations that Colorado attorneys really encounter in their day-to-day work.  In fact, some of the “hypothetical” situations are based on fact patterns in actual attorney discipline cases or CBA Ethics Committee legal ethics opinions. The hypotheticals will address the legal ethics situations faced by litigators and non-litigators.

For each hypothetical situation, our faculty will provide the attendees with a range of actions an attorney facing that situation can take. Using an electronic “audience response system,” each attendee will vote, anonymously, for the action he or she believes is the best choice under the ethics rules. The faculty will then reveal which choice is best, explaining why it is the best choice under the ethics rules. The program will include time for audience questions.
The program's written materials will include a copy of the Colorado Rules of Professional Conduct as well as case decisions, legal ethics opinions, and other documents used by the faculty in the discussion of each hypothetical situation.
