Advancing Mental Wellness at Work - Increase Productivity and Manage ADA/FMLA Risk

November 2015

Advancing Mental Wellness at Work - Increase Productivity and Manage ADA/FMLA Risk

In Partnership with the Colorado Bar Association Solo/Small Firm Section

Program Description

Untreated mental impairments at work are an invisible productivity crisis and risk management hazard for employers under the ADA and FMLA. Further, managers and HR often take an ad hoc, inexpert approach to these legally complex situations. This program outlines how to establish an effective, compliant process for accommodating affected workers so that they can return to mental wellness and full productivity quickly. Designed for employer and employee counsel, the program highlights the mutual interests of the parties, best practices for collaboration and compliance, and how to get the most out of mental health vendors and treatment providers.
