Labor Law for Non-Labor Lawyers

Program Description:

Do “wobblies” (early union activists) give you the wobbles? Are you corporate or in-house counsel in need of a primer on labor law? This program will focus on the law surrounding labor entities, particularly unions. We will cover:

- Terms and Definitions - the alphabet soup of labor law and understanding state and federation definitions for key terms like “right-to-work”
- Exposure for non-union employers - including handbooks, policies, access, email, etc.
- Collective bargaining agreements
- Free speech protections - picketing, handbilling, etc.
- Unionization – reasons for and signs of employee unionization
