Program Description:

A mechanic's lien is a hold put on property. If your clients have worked at a construction job site, or have provided materials to a construction job site, they can place a lien on that property for any unpaid wages or for any materials not paid for. Or perhaps you represent a homeowner who has had a lien filed against their property.

There is much to learn about this area of the law! Although mechanics' liens are effective tools, there are numerous pitfalls in meeting the deadlines for recording a mechanic's lien, for accurately drafting the lien, and for correctly serving the lien. This half-day program will help you to ensure your clients' lien claims are correctly perfected.
