About the Faculty:
James B. Borgel, Esq.

James B. Borgel, Esq. is an AV rated land use and real estate attorney with more than 25 years of experience representing private and public sector clients in the acquisition, entitlement, development and sale of real estate. Mr. Borgel has been lead counsel on the zoning, subdivision and development of many major projects, and has negotiated a number of comprehensive and complex development, annexation and infrastructure agreements. He has also entitled conventional and alternative energy projects such as pipelines, transmission lines, wind farms and solar farms, and has represented buyers and sellers of land, residential, commercial and industrial properties.
Prior to joining Holland & Hart, Mr. Borgel was general counsel for the developer of two mixed use projects totaling over 5500 acres and assistant general counsel for the original developer of the 22,000 acre Highlands Ranch project in Douglas County, Colorado. Mr. Borgel received his undergraduate degree Cum Laude from Macalester College and his law degree (Order of St. Ives) from the University of Denver.
Evan L. Randall, Esq.

Evan L. Randall, Esq. is an associate at the law firm of Holland & Hart LLP. His experience includes counseling clients with commercial real estate transactions, including leases, sale contracts, deeds of trust, legal opinions, leasehold mortgages, promissory notes, construction contracts, easements, restrictive covenants, subleases, and other documents. He has also assisted and counseled clients on business formation and related issues. Additionally, he also has experience with environmental remediation, environmental regulation, eminent domain, and litigation matters.
Mr. Randall is a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accredited professional (Building Design and Construction) and advises clients on green building projects. Mr. Randall is a recipient of the 2006 Rising Stars award for the Colorado Springs Business Journal and was selected as a Rising Star by Colorado Super Lawyers in 2009 and 2010. Mr. Randall received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1992 and his law degree and his Master of Urban Planning from the University of Kansas in 1998 (Order of the Coif - law degree; Phi Kappa Phi (honor society) - urban planning).
Evan co-authors a chapter entitled “Green Building: A Primer for Attorneys” in CBA-CLE's publication A Practitioner's Guide to Colorado Construction Law.
