Join us as Wesley Brown, Laurie Gerstenkorn, and Darren Hensley discuss the ins and outs of selling an investment banking business. The discussion will focus on the June 2014 transaction in which St. Charles Capital, LLC, a Denver-based middle market investment banking firm, was sold to KPMG Corporate Finance, a national investment banking firm affiliated with national accounting firm KPMG. Mike, former President of St. Charles Capital, Laurie, former CFO of St. Charles Capital, and Darren, counsel to St. Charles Capital, will discuss the different perspective of investment bankers when they find themselves sitting in the seller's seat at the transaction table, issues that arise in selling an investment banking business in general, and the unique issue of selling an investment bank to a buyer.
