Every year Colorado attorneys attend the Colorado Business Law Institute to get the latest information on the most important issues in business law!  Join Colorado's top business law attorneys and attend the 11th Annual Colorado Business Law Institute!
 
This year's Institute will be held at the Pinnacle Club in Downtown Denver and will feature two full days of useful instruction in timely business law topics.  The morning plenary sessions will address issues that are applicable to virtually all business law attorneys while the afternoon breakout sessions will allow you to attend just the presentations most applicable to your practice.  With 12 breakout sessions to choose from, you are sure to receive valuable information you can put to use in your practice right away.

How the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act Impacts Smaller Businesses
The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (the Act) is a 2,323 page amendment to H.R. 4173 recently passed by Congress and expected to be signed into law by the President as this brochure goes to press.  This bill, ostensibly “big business reform” legislation, will actually have a significant impact on small businesses, especially banks, broker-dealers, and financial institutions.  Portions of the Act affecting small businesses include:
-Changes affecting mortgage-backed securities and mortgages in general
-Revised definition of “accredited investor”
-Changes to eligibility for Rule 506
-Enhanced Securities and Exchange Commission enforcement powers
-And other changes affecting small businesses, both pubic and private
