Program Description
 
Expert, Robert Howe (President/J.D.), of Title Company of the Rockies on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's Final Rules (effective October 3, 2015) regarding Closing Disclosure and the Integrated Settlement Process (aka TRID), will provide an overview of the Rules and the impact on your lender clients and title companies. New, significant liability exposures stemming from Dodd-Frank legislation and the fining power of the CFPB and the latest developments regarding implementation of TRID are included in the discussion.

Meet Your Presenter:
 
Robert Howe has been the President of the Title Company of the Rockies ("TCR"), an independent title agency dedicated to the Colorado High Country, since 2002. TCR maintains direct operations in Eagle, Garfield, Grand, Pitkin, Routt and Summit Counties and also serves the adjoining mountain areas. TCR has convenient locations in Aspen, Avon/Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Glenwood Springs, Grand Lake, Hot Sulphur Springs, Rifle, Steamboat Springs, and Winter Park. Bob also manages Northwest Title Company (NTC) located in Craig serving Moffat County. Title Company of the Rockies is a members of the ET Investments LLC family of title agencies which is headquartered in Aurora, Colorado and maintains title insurance agencies throughout Colorado and in the states of Arizona, Nevada, Texas, and Wyoming. Collectively, there over 38 branch locations in Colorado alone. As a family of companies, it is one of the largest independent title insurance agents in the country representing the seven largest underwriters in the nation. Bob grew up in a southwest Minnesota farm town and is a graduate of Macalester College and William Mitchell College of Law. With over 25 years of real estate experience, Bob's background includes being a shareholder in a Minneapolis - St. Paul based real property law firm, creating a title insurance agencies, and being a founding shareholder and the Executive Vice President of a national platform for distressed real estate asset management and technology systems that was purchased by Fidelity National Financial in 2000 (now a division of Black Knight Financial Services). Other professional affiliations include being the current President of the Land Title Association of Colorado, serving on the Colorado Division of Insurance's Title Insurance Advisory Council (term limited as its Vice Chair), and being an affiliate member of the Colorado Bar Association and its Real Estate Section (since 2002). Bob maintains an attorney license with the State of Minnesota and holds a title insurance license with the State of Colorado.
