The forms in The Orange Book are prepared by the volunteer members of The Orange Book Forms Committee of the Trust and Estate Section of the Colorado Bar Association. The forms are intended to provide guidance and general suggested language to assist the lawyer in preparing estate planning documents; they are not intended to be a substitute for the exercise of the lawyer's own professional judgment in planning a client's estate. No form or language in The Orange Book should be used unless the lawyer fully understands the purpose, meaning, and tax consequences of the form and language. 
 
 
 
 
Updates/ Supplements:  
Orange Book Forms: Colorado Estate Planning Forms, 8th Edition was released in 2017; this book is updated annually. If you are purchasing the full book, you do not need to purchase any supplements; the latest supplement is already included in the book.    
 
If you are looking to update a book that you already own, you need to check the date on the front cover sheet of your book.  If you are updating a book that has a date of 2016 or earlier on the front cover sheet, you need to purchase a new book. If your book has a date of 2019 on the front cover sheet, you need only purchase the 2021 Supplement to update your book (this pertains to the printed book only).

To access the PDF:

1. Log in to the CLE Dashboard.

2. Scroll down until you see DASHBOARD-AT-A-GLANCE.

3. Click on the BOOKS tab and find the title.

4. Click on the book icon labeled Download. The product will download as a zip file.

How to open the Zip file:

1. Save the downloaded .zip file to your hard drive

2. Right click on the file and select Extract All – this will open an extraction wizard.

3. Click Next and then select the location to extract the files to on your computer.

4. Click OK.

5. Click Next to begin the extraction process.

6. Click Finish when complete.

7. You will now have a folder on your hard drive containing a PDF version of your book and, if applicable, a folder with Word and PDF versions of the accompanying forms
