Colorado Arbitration Law and Practice Second Edition, 2013 Supplement
Robert E. Benson, Esq., Author
In the last 20 years, the number of judicial decisions on arbitration has exploded, showing no sign of leveling, let alone declining. Arbitration agreements are becoming more detailed and specific. The “rules” governing the conduct of arbitration are becoming increasingly defined and complex, as the parties take their procedural issues - disputes about arbitration - to the courts for resolution. This book does include most of the important Colorado federal and state court decisions. Cases from other jurisdictions are often cited and discussed, particularly where there is no Colorado decision on point.

All chapters have been completely revised in this new supplement, with most chapters having entirely new sections added. Readers will also find updates regarding the new AAA Rules of Commercial Arbitration, effective October 1, 2013.

The 2013 supplement also includes a discussion of recent U.S. Supreme Court cases regarding arbitration, including:
- Stolt-Nielsen S.A. v. Animal Feeds International Corp.
- AT&T Mobility LLC v. Concepcion
- American Express Co. v. Italian Colors Restaurant
- Sutter v. Oxford Health Plans, LLC
- Rent-A-Center West v. Jackson

HIGHLIGHTS OF NEW TOPICS INCLUDE:
  • Who is Bound by the Agreement to Arbitrate
  • Terms that May Void an Arbitration Contract/Clause
