This article discusses interesting cases from 2013 in the Colorado state and federal courts. This article does not discuss arbitration in the context of collective bargaining agreements. In 2013, the question whether class arbitration is permitted predominated at the U.S. Supreme Court. The most interesting case this year comes from the Colorado Court of Appeals, which addressed the issue of permitting an interlocutory appeal from an order compelling arbitration. Typically, such review is limited to orders denying but not compelling arbitration. These and other developments concerning the law of alternative dispute resolution are described in this article.
