Water Resources, Issues and Administration of the Gunnison River, San Miguel River, Dolores River and San Juan River Basins
Program Description:
This is the fifth of a series of courses offered related to the major river basins in Colorado. It has been designed for all professionals in the water rights arena - attorneys, engineers, expert witnesses, water resources managers and others - who wish to practice in the Water Courts for Water Divisions 4 and 7 which handle the water matters in the Gunnison River, San Miguel River, Dolores River and San Juan River Basins. This course will cover the principal geographic and hydrologic features of the Basins along with administration issues. The program also features an update on pertinent law, rules, regulations and legislation. Hot topics to be discussed include the Animas La Plata Project; McPhee Reservoir; Dry Gulch Reservoir, Tribal Water; Adverse Possession of Water Rights; Ditch and Pipeline Easements; San Miguel River Water; and Gunnison RICD.
Our distinguished faculty is comprised of experienced water attorneys, engineers and administrators with a wealth of knowledge of water matters involving the Gunnison River and the San Miguel River, Dolores River and San Juan River Basins.
