Presented by John Hendrick, Ph.D., P.E., Centennial Water & Sanitation District
Description:
These materials discussed the problems with the water supply in the southern metropolitan area. The South Metro Water Supply Authority (SMWSA) was discussed, including their attempts to provide adequate water supplies to a growing population. The causes of the water shortage were discussed, such as the intense growth of the south metro area in the '70s and '80s, and the veto of the Two Forks reservoir project, as well as problems with drawing ground water.
