DEI and the Small Firm
At times, solo & small firms feel that they are limited in participating in diversity, equity and inclusivity (DEI) efforts. While this is the perception, it is not true. There are many ways solo and small firms can ensure that their firm values integrate DEI into their firm culture. What many fail to realize is that supporting DEI efforts is a vehicle to supporting social change and anti-racism. This training will focus on what every small and solo firm practitioner needs to know about DEI, and how they can participate in the social and racial movement our country is experiencing.

Solo But Not Alone: The Importance of Community for Entrepreneurial Attorneys
The Gallup Wellbeing Index found that 45% of entrepreneurs are stressed. For independent lawyers, this pressure can be caused by the hurdles they navigate daily which include hiring, sales, and accounting, in addition to their actual client matters. Savvy solo practitioners surround themselves with community for fellowship. This panel will focus on the benefits of joining existing Colorado communities, such as bar associations, professional organizations, mentorship programs, and co-working spaces to combat these issues. Information will be covered on how solo practitioners can leverage their community involvement to help them be stronger business owners. Includes discussion of Colorado Ethics Opinions 89 (Office Sharing) and 105 (Contract Attorneys).
