Colorado’s New Fiduciary Access to Digital Assets Act
The Act allows fiduciaries to manage digital property like computer files, web domains, and virtual currency, but restricts a fiduciary’s access to electronic communications such as email, text messages, and social media accounts unless the original user consented in a will, trust, power of attorney, or other record.

IRS Form 8971 and the New Basis Consistency Rules
This session will discuss the new basis reporting requirements under I.R.C. Sections 1014(f) and 6035, the new proposed temporary regulations, and the Form 8971 and instructions. We will review who must file, exemptions from filing, when the filing is due, penalties related to failure to report, and requirements on certain transferees to report subsequent transfers of reported property.
