Marijuana in Estate Planning and Administration

Co-sponsored by the CBA Trust & Estate Section

Program Description:

Join Beth Bryant and Joel Russman as they discuss the intersection of estate planning and administration with Colorado's burgeoning marijuana industry. The recent addition of recreational marijuana rights to the already-existing medical marijuana industry means that estate and probate attorneys are almost certain to encounter marijuana-related issues in both estate planning and probate. This is a must-attend session dealing with everything from a joint found with a decedent's personal property to an estate-planning client who owns a thriving, licensed marijuana business.

Don't miss this important topic!

Joel D. Russman, Esq., has been synergizing the transactional and litigation aspects of the law since 1980. By setting up small businesses for clients, leading clients through financing, lease and contract negotiations and then advising them through the inevitable disputes and representing them in court, Joel has learned which strategies work well in the long-term, and which short-term tactics you will live to regret.  Joel graduated from the University of Michigan Law School in 1980.  He has published articles and books and taught seminars on the subjects of small business law, real estate and medical marijuana in Colorado.
