The Art and Science of Persuasion in the Courtroom

Program Highlights:

Your ability to craft your most persuasive argument using the Art and Science of Persuasion in the Courtroom is candidly
discussed by the very Judges who witness your performances in their courtrooms. This same ability is then explained and quantified on a scientific basis by a leading neuroscientist who specializes in this area.

Program Description

Whether you are a novice litigator or a seasoned professional in the litigation arena, you will greatly benefit from this unique program cosponsored by the Colorado Judicial Institute. This program has been designed specifically for trial lawyers with an all-star cast of distinguished Judges and a neuroscientist as your faculty. Our excellent panel of Judges will teach you just what works with them, what fails to get their support, and what sends them off the deep end. Our keynote speaker, Dr. Mark Dubin, will explain why some tactics are effective tools of persuasion, and why some tactics are just a waste of your time with the Judges. The morning will begin with a round of critical questions about courtroom procedures posed to our panel of Judges who will tell you just what they think about your tactics. Next, Dr. Durbin will tell you why some of us are so persuasive and why others of us fail miserably to win
over the Judge. You will not only learn the most effective methods of persuasion to use, but also what pitfalls to avoid, and you will be learning these tools from the Judges that preside over your cases and the scientist who knows why. Their years of observation, expertise and experience will be shared with you.
