Program Description

It's time again for the Annual Fall Family Law Update - brought to you by the CBA Family Law Section and CBA-CLE!

Each fall, family law attorneys in Colorado attend the Family Law Update because they get a value-packed CLE program, taught by experienced, expert faculty, that gives them information and skills they can put to use right away to help their clients.  This year the Fall Update is better than ever!

The day begins with the always useful case law and legislative update - catch up fast with summaries of all the new legislation and case law in one convenient 60 minute session!

Next up is a very informative segment on cross-examination of valuation experts in domestic relations cases.  What are the key points that valuation experts will be questioned on and what approach should a cross-examining attorney take?  Learn from both a noted valuation CPA and an attorney who regularly deal with these issues!

The third segment of the day is a fascinating and important session on the issue of mental incompetence in a client.  What does a family law attorney do when faced with a client he/she suspects of legal competence problems?  Find out!

The fourth segment of the program is the always useful legal ethics hour!
The second to last segment of the day is an extended session on the issue of children with developmental disabilities in family law cases.  When a child of divorcing or divorced parents has a developmental disability, this fact often drives almost every other aspect of the matter.  Learn the best strategies for arriving at successful outcomes in your cases that involve children with developmental disabilities.

Of course, the program would not be complete without hearing from Colorado's hard-working judges hearing domestic relations matters.  In this program the judges will discuss the sometimes confusing nature of electronic evidence, including the best ways to introduce and present electronic evidence at trial.

This convenient, affordable program will give the family law attorney, novice and veteran alike, practical, timely information:  It's a superb value for your CLE dollar!
