Teen Suicide & The LIV Project
We are losing the battle against youth suicide and the current conversations around mental health are not working. Colorado has seen the highest increase in teen suicides in the U.S., jumping 58% in three years. One third of Colorado youth report feeling sad or hopeless. This conversation will focus on LIV, a documentary short film about a Colorado teen who tragically died by suicide in 2019. The Filmmaker and subjects will discuss the film and its impact and will be joined by Dr. Jenna Glover Ph.D., and Judge LaBuda. Dr. Glover, Director of Psychology Training, Children's Hospital Colorado Pediatric Mental Health Institute, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychiatry & Department of Pediatrics, University of Colorado School of Medicine, will speak on the impact of divorce on youth mental health. Judge LaBuda, a close friend of the family, will discuss her observations of the emotional impact highly litigated domestic relations cases have on families.
Presented by Paula DuPré Pesmen, Jenna Glover, PhD, MS, BS, Honorable Judith LaBuda, Tess Kunik, The LIV Project, and Honey Beuf, The LIV Project

Note: Only the live presentation viewers will have access to The LIV Project documentary. The film will not be recorded or accessible at a later time. A panel discussion following the film will be recorded and included in the home study product.
