Meet Your Presenter
 
Rebekah L.W. Elliott, Esq., Snell & Wilmer L.L.P., Denver, focuses her practice on commercial litigation and regulatory compliance. In her commercial litigation practice, she represents clients from a variety of industries in both state and federal court and has experience in commercial disputes, financial services litigation, and creditors’ rights. Rebekah has significant experience with bankruptcy and reorganization matters, including representing secured and unsecured creditors in litigating preference claims, avoidance actions, and relief from stay proceedings, negotiating and forming reorganization plans, and representing borrowers and lenders in loan workouts and restructures. In addition, Rebekah assists companies in relation to regulatory compliance issues. Her experience in this area includes representing companies in tax controversies and audits and compliance with unclaimed property statutes. Rebekah is also a member of the Opportunity Zones and Opportunity Funds Industry Group, and assists in representing investors, fund sponsors, and developers with respect to the new Federal Opportunity Zone Program.
 
Stephanie A. Kanan, Esq., Snell & Wilmer L.L.P., Denver, focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation. She represents clients from a variety of industries in both state and federal courts. She has experience in commercial disputes, corporate governance and shareholder disputes, consumer lending litigation for institutional clients, contract negotiations, real estate and construction litigation, and insurance coverage disputes. As a former trial attorney at the Colorado State Public Defender's Office, Stephanie has tried many cases to verdict and has extensive courtroom experience. Stephanie also has experience with various bankruptcy-related matters, such as recovering and distributing assets, negotiating and forming reorganization plans, and litigating adversary proceedings. She has represented Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 trustees, as well as secured and unsecured creditors, in litigating preference claims, avoidance actions and relief from stay proceedings.
 
Jenifer Waller, Chief Operating Officer, Colorado Bankers Association, Denver, was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in 2017 after holding the position of Senior Vice President since 1999. She started in community banking in Southern Colorado in 1985 and attended the Western States School of Banking. Prior to her days at CBA, Waller spent almost five years as a bank examiner for the Colorado Division of Banking. Waller is involved with numerous organizations, serving on the Board of the Colorado Civil Justice League, the Colorado Fraud and Identity Theft Unit and the Colorado Energy Environment District. She has been appointed to several state task forces addressing issues impacting Colorado, including the elder abuse task force and the wildfire task force. Waller enjoys politics and volunteering for campaigns. When she is not working she enjoys spending time with her sons Joe and Travis and husband Doug.
