Meet Your Presenters:
 
Honorable Howard R. Tallman was appointed a U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the District of Colorado in December, 2002. He became Chief Judge in January, 2007, and resigned as Chief in July, 2014.  Prior to taking the bench, he served as the U.S. Trustee for Region 19, covering Colorado, Utah and Wyoming, from March, 2000. Previously, Tallman practiced with the Denver firm of Block Markus & Williams, L.L.C., where he specialized in the representation of debtors, creditors, trustees, committees, asset purchasers and other parties in workouts, restructurings, commercial litigation and bankruptcy cases and proceedings.  He was also a member of the Chapter 7 panel of trustees for Colorado from 1996 until becoming U.S. Trustee. Tallman received his B.A. summa cum laude in 1972 from Villanova University, his J.D. from the University of Denver College of Law in 1975 and his M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Colorado Graduate School of Business in 1984. Tallman is certified as a business bankruptcy specialist by the American Board of Bankruptcy Certification.    
 
 
Keri L. Riley, Esq., KutnerBrinen PC, focuses on primarily on debtor representation in both Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcies. A graduate of the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, her publications include “Standard for Dismissal and Stay Relief in Single Asset Real Estate Chapter 11 Cases”, Norton Journal of Bankruptcy Law and Practice, July 2014, and “Why Filing Tax Returns by April 15th Matter More Than Ever: Recent Developments in the Dischargeability of Late Filed Taxes”, Norton Journal of Bankruptcy Law and Practice, June 2015. Prior to graduating law school, Ms. Riley was a member of the National Trial Team, the National Appellate Advocacy Team, and worked for the Colorado State Attorney General’s Office.  
 
Timothy M. Swanson, Esq., Moye White LLP, focuses primarily on commercial bankruptcy, creditors’ rights, and commercial litigation. He regularly assists lending clients in a variety of matters involving workouts, creditors’ rights and loan documentation. He has extensive experience with Chapter 11 matters, drafting and arguing a multitude of motions and objections, drafting appellate briefs, along with pursuing and negotiating a variety of collection strategies. Besides Colorado, Mr. Swanson has appeared on behalf of lending clients in Missouri, Illinois, Kansas and Wisconsin.
