Matthew R. Dalton
Matthew R. Dalton, Esq., is a Partner and member the Executive Committee of the law firm of Spencer Fane & Grimshaw LLP with principal offices in Kansas City, Omaha, Overland Park, St. Louis and Denver Colorado. From 1981 to 2012, he was a shareholder, director and officer of the law firm of Grimshaw & Harring from 1981 to 2012. Nearly all of Matt's practice since 1981 has been spent in the areas of special districts, municipal finance, and municipal law generally, with the law firm now acting as general counsel to approximately 300 special districts, 30 business improvement districts, and occasionally acting as special counsel to cities and counties. This representation has involved all aspects of the administration and operation of special districts, local governments and municipalities. Matt is regularly asked to act as an expert witness regarding these subjects before the Colorado Legislature as well as in court actions.
