Terry J. Harris
Terry J Harris PCTerry Harris, Esq., has been practicing law for over 31 years, with a focus the past 17 years on federal criminal defense. He currently practices with his daughter Emily in the firm Harris & Harris, P.C. Terry serves on the District of Wyoming's Criminal Justice Act Panel of attorneys, and for a number of years served as Wyoming's CJA Panel Representative. Terry was a member of the legal capital habeas team that recently succeeded in obtaining the vacating of both the death penalty and murder conviction in James Harlow (Wyo. D.Ct. No. 05CV039-B), and currently is a member of the legal capital habeas team representing Dale Eaton (Wyo. D.Ct. No. 09CV261-J). Terry has appeared occasionally before the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, and obtained a reversal in United States v. Brown, 529 F.3d 1260 (10th Cir. 2008) (UCMJ Courts Martial for child pornography possession not a “prior conviction” under federal child pornography statutes). Terry also has obtained federal jury trial “not guilty” verdicts in United States v. Nowlin (Wyo. D.Ct. No. 06CR242-D) (charged with assault with serious bodily injury) and United States v. Castro (Wyo. D.Ct. No. 02CR077-J) (charged leader of methamphetamine conspiracy).
