Paula Constantakis Young, Esq., graduated from the University of Michigan, with high distinction and the University of Denver College of Law. Ms. Young's practice includes probate protective proceedings, estate administration, mental health, including certifications involuntary alcohol/ drug commitments, impositions of legal disability, and estate planning. Ms. Young has much experience as Court-appointed counsel and guardian ad litem in probate divisions in numerous Colorado judicial districts. Paula Young successfully argued the extent of the probate court's jurisdiction in the guardianship of a minor child before the Colorado Supreme Court. Colorado probate law was clarified and expanded in In Re: J.C.T., 176 P3d 726 (2007). Ms. Young later wrote an article for the Colorado Lawyer on this decision. Paula Young has lectured on probate, mental health and guardianship/conservatorship issues. Ms. Young is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, including the Elder Law, and Trust and Estate Sections, the Jefferson County Bar Association, and the Women's Estate Planning Council. She is married to Thomas J. Young, Jr., an attorney, and they have two grown daughters, a physician, and a corporate economist/financial analyst.
