He was raised in Boulder, CO, and graduated from the University of Colorado- Boulder in 1976 with a B.S. in Business Finance, and graduated with a J.D. from the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law in 1979. He was engaged in the private practice of law in Brush Colorado, and Denver, Colorado from 1980 to 1985. He was in house counsel for 2 independent oil and gas companies from 1985 through 1989, and has been engaged in the private practice of law emphasizing Bankruptcy Debtor's work as well as Chapter 7 panel Trustee work since 1989. He is married and has 2 grown daughters and one grandchild.
