F. Stephen . Collins
Honorable F. Stephen Collins has presided over a domestic docket in Division 12 of the Arapahoe County District Court since he was appointed to the Bench, effective February 1, 2011. Judge Collins received his JD from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1979. He then clerked for Justice Edmond W. Burke of the Supreme Court of Alaska during 1979-1980. After completing his judicial clerkship, he returned home to Colorado where he practiced in Denver from 1980 to 2011, specializing in complex commercial litigation. Judge Collins has served as an adjunct professor at the University of Denver, Sturm College of the law, teaching such fascinating courses as negotiable instruments, secured transactions and sales, and has been either a faculty member or a team leader at the Rocky Mountain Regional program of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy each year for the past 20 years.
