Robert A. Holmes is the founder of Robert Holmes Law LLC. His practice focuses on all aspects of the development, financing, leasing, purchase, and sale of commercial real estate, as well as the restructure, workout, and foreclosure of loans. Mr. Holmes is a member of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys and served as that group’s president for 2013-2014. He is also a Super Lawyer and is listed in Chambers USA and Best Lawyers in America.
Mr. Holmes has spoken at a number of educational seminars and written articles on many topics, including buying and selling commercial real estate, financing real estate, loan documentation, foreclosures, workouts and receiverships, leasing real estate, and common interest communities. Mr. Holmes served as a member of the Section Council of the Real Estate Law and Titles Section of the Colorado Bar Association and served as the Section Council’s Chair in 1990-91. Mr. Holmes is a former president of CLE in Colorado, Inc., received that group’s Richard N. Doyle Award of Excellence in 2008, and continues to serve on its board of directors. He has also served on several committees for the Colorado Bar Association in real estate-related areas. Mr. Holmes authored the book Public Trustee Foreclosure in Colorado and provided regular updates through 2015.
Mr. Holmes received his bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Nebraska, his master’s degree in engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and his J.D. degree from the University of Denver.
