Peter W. Burg
Burg Simpson Eldredge Hersh & Jardine PCPeter W. Burg, Esq., practice focuses on complex litigation in a wide range of substantive areas. Mr. Burg has developed a national reputation as a trial lawyer handling cases involving product liability, personal injury, and mass tort litigation. In recent years, Mr. Burg has been selected to lead a number of high profile mass tort litigations. Mr. Burg was appointed by the Honorable Charles L. Breyer, United States District Judge for the Northern District of California to serve as a member of the Plaintiffs' Steering Committee for Bextra and Celebrex Marketing Sales Practices and Product Liability Multi‐District Litigation. Mr. Burg was also appointed by the Honorable Dan A. Polster, United States District Judge for the Northern District of Ohio to serve as Co‐Chair of Plaintiffs' Steering Committee and Plaintiffs' Executive Committee in the Gadolinium‐Based Contrast Agents Product Liability Multi‐District Litigation. Mr. Burg has been recognized by the Legal 500 as a “particularly strong and intelligent leader” and shows “the ability to try cases when necessary and to settle cases for top value when settlement is clearly in the client's best interest.” Mr. Burg has achieved the highest rating from his peers for quality of legal work, professionalism, and ethics by receiving an "AV" rating by Martindale‐Hubbell in the areas of personal injury and mass torts. He has been listed as a Colorado Super Lawyer since 2006 and has also met the standard of excellence for selection as one of the National Trial Lawyers Association's Top 100 Trial Lawyers. In addition, Mr. Burg is recognized as one of the Best Lawyers in America in the areas of personal injury and mass tort. Mr. Burg is also a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America. In 2010, Mr. Burg served as Chairman of the Craig Hospital Board of Directors. He previously held the position of Vice‐Chair. Mr. Burg is currently a member of the both the operating board for Craig Hospital and the Hospital Foundation Board of Directors. Based in Denver, Colorado the Craig Hospital is world renowned as a premier center for specialty rehabilitation and research for people with spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury. He remains heavily involved in raising awareness and funds for brain injury non‐profits throughout Colorado. Mr. Burg is also an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law.
