Helen C. Shreves

Helen Shreves, Esq. is an attorney-mediator and arbitrator who has been in the practice of family law since 1978.  Since 1995 she has dedicated her full-time practice to the resolution of family law disputes.  Helen was president of the Colorado Women's Bar Association in 1986 and a vice-president of the Denver Bar Association in 1987.  She has been a member of the Executive Council of the CBA Family Law Section since 1984 and was chair of the Section in 1999. She was the President of the Board of Directors of the Metropolitan Denver Interdisciplinary Committee (MDIC) in 2000. Helen received the Denver Bar Association 1989 Volunteer Lawyer of the Year and was a member of  the Colorado Supreme Court Grievance Committee from 1990 through 1996.   Helen obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota and her law degree with honors from the University of South Dakota School of Law in 1978.  She was in private practice with Bayer, Carey & McGee, PC, from 1978 - 1990 and her own office from 1990 through 1995 when she began her full-time mediation practice in 1995.  She received her mediation training at the Harvard Negotiation Project at Harvard University and the Center for Dispute Resolution in Boulder, Colorado.  Helen has been named a Super Lawyer and in the Best Lawyers in America for the past eight years and she recently received the CBA Family Law Section Icon Award for 2013.  She was named the Best Mediator in the Denver Post “Best Lawyers” publication in 2014.
